Just reading the artist and the title of this work would be more than enough to present this release: the most renowned Italian musician, composer and conductor, followed by one of the most famous Italian films ever: that's just what they are, after all, Ennio Morricone and quot;Cinema Paradisoquot;, a film that in 1990 earned director Giuseppe Tornatore an Oscar for Best Foreign Film. Love, nostalgia, melancholy, these are the three main ingredients of quot;Cinema Paradisoquot;, the same that characterize Morricone's soundtrack. A work of pure classical music: orchestral, symphonic, compelling and moving, it's the perfect comment to the scenes expertly directed by Tornatore. Another cult release exclusively reissued by AMS Records, as usual on colored vinyl (solid purple & clear transparent mixed) in a gatefold cover with new artwork, also including a 30x30cm poster with flyers and promotional lobby cards. A must for any self-respecting movie maniac, presented in a LP format after more than 15 years!

RCA Records faced a problem at the close of the 1960s, surrounding 's music from 's 'Man-With-No-Name' Westerns starring. The first one, had yielded a successful soundtrack album when issued in America in 1967, despite the fact that had only recorded 14 minutes of music for it. There was demand for a soundtrack LP from the second movie, especially in the wake of United Artists Records' enjoying a substantial hit with its soundtrack release from the third movie in the trilogy,. The problem was that had only recorded 14 minutes of music from. As a result, they assembled a soundtrack album on, which included the six music tracks from that film and repeated the six original tracks from. It all sounds good, and it's interesting to hear the composer add the sound of an oboe to his distinctive use of trumpet, guitar, and whistling on a new and haunting melodic canvas of western musical landscapes.
There are no notes, alas, and there's little other information printed, but the album is enjoyable as far as it goes. It should also be noted, however, that most of the key sections of this and are available at a lower price on RCA's collection, which is also well-annotated.
